I was looking through my Dream Theater cds and just realized that 3 of them say they are from Argentina. Don't know if anyone else has come across these. What i am wondering is if these are legit pressings? Are they the same quality as the US releases? Anyone know? I admit i am overly picky about my cd collection, I just want to know if these are the "real deal". Any info will help. Thanks! |

I know what you mean, but you're confusing something. What that means is that the album distribution is done by a company in Argentina. I live in Panama (Central America) and the albums that I buy in here are made in Argentina, as well but other countries in other continents have other companies making the distribution. That means the album itself wasn't actually done in Argentina, just the manufacturing of the copy you and several other thousands of people have. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Daso: I was just curious because I have read online that Argentina cds could have lower quality inserts and that the discs themselves could be lesser quality. I don't know if any of this is true. My Argentina cds sound good and the inserts look ok, but I have nothing to compare them to. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it. |

Well I bought the US version of Images and Words tonight and there is differences. The US version has a much sharper cover art and the paper is thicker than my version from Argentina. The disc is even heavier than the Argentina version. They both sound the same but I have concluded that the US version is just made better with better materials. Now I must replace my other 2 albums that are from argentina. Oh well. |
