I wonder if Mike Portnoy is ever going to do LTE again? Probably not. What if John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess want to do LTE? Would Mike Mangini fill in as drummer?

I don't think so. As far as I know LTE was formed by Portnoy and Petrucci wasn't going to be the guitar player initally, but Portnoy chose him because of the unavailability of the other candidates he had. And well, Rudess wasn't a member of DT back then. So they can't do an LTE album because it's not their band at all. If they want to do an instrumental album with Tony Levin as the bassist they can, but it wouldn't be LTE.

According to Portnoy, he hopes there will be another LTE album, but he needs to "rebuild some bridges first".

Someone likes DragonForce in here?

@Daso: Thanks man. I hope Portnoy does work on a 3rd LTE. I just got the 2nd one yesterday and I love it.

I to hope there is another LTE album, and more importantly, another, more extensive, tour. Seeing videos of those 4 performing live is just incredibly that I need to witness it with my own eyes one day.

I doubt if you'd ever see MM on an LTE album. That would be something the guys in the band certainly wouldn't do. They still have too much respect for MP to do that I think. LTE was just one of those great things we got and should cherish it.

A 3rd LTE would be great and one could hope. Right now I think it would be a Legal Trouble Experiment.
