Mangini Technique on Lost Not Forgotten

At about the 3:15 Mike start a ride cymbal beat that seems very complex does anyone out there have video or know exactly what he's doing?

I've tried to dissect this a few times but I'm not a very good musician and can't quite put my finger on the technique used to get that sound.
