Dream Theater

Hey all:

I just wanted to put this out there and see what everyone thinks.

I recently purchased and listened to Metropolis Pt. 2, and I enjoyed listening to it so much that I listened to it again. It was during the second playback that I realized Metropolis pt. 2 is a concept album and the story started to intrigue me, as I am an avid believer in reincarnation. The story moved me so much that I was inspired to start work on a script for a musical play or movie. That being said, this is my first project of this caliber, and I want to know if anyone thinks this would be a good idea, and if anyone can suggest any ideas for consideration. So far, my plan is to show different viewpoints. Since the album mainly follows Nicholas/Victoria's viewpoint, you don't really know what motivated the other characters. I am looking to explore the viewpoints of the other characters, such as why Edward was driven to do what he did, or how Victoria inspired Julian to beat his addiction. Of course the main story line with Nicholas narrating would be a great way to tie the whole project together.

I now open the floor to you. What do you think?

You may want to listen to "Metropolis Pt 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper" off of the album "Images and Words" to help you with the motivation of some of the other characters.
