Recording Techniques on BC&SL

Hello!
I am in the middle of a school-assignment on how the guitar-sound on Black Clouds and Silver Linings came to be. My text have to include both Petrucci's own decisions when it comes to gear, and Paul Northfield's choices in microphones and decisions in the mix.
I am interested in info regarding the album as a whole, but also specific info on "The Shattered Fortress" (Petrucci's sound is just killer on that track).
Does anyone have any information when it comes to this? Any links to interviews or pictures or anything that might be helpful?

Thanks in advance!

Sure....Check out these:

Interview with Paul Northfield

John Petrucci Tone (1)

John Petrucci Tone (2)

Mics would generally be the Shure KSM313 ribbon (or Royer R-121) plus probably a SM57. There are tons of YouTube videos showing tracking sessions for BCSL.
