SFAM... Although, the first time I heard I&W I was instantly hooked and DT became my favorite band.

Hi,

I have listening to "Dream Theater" for the last 13 years. I still remember I was at my cousin's place and he was listening to some random tracks on his PC and all of a sudden I heard "Lie" from their 1994 release 'Awake'! That song just shook me and sent chills right down my spine. I think I asked my cousin to play that song in a loop for over 45 times and instantly I became a huge "Dream Theater" fan. Since then there has been no looking back *PERIOD*

No other band has been able to replace them and will never do so. I remember I bought my first two "Dream Theater" albums from 'Amazon' and they were: 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence' and 'Train of Thought' back in 2005 and I haven't stopped since then. I own every "Dream Theater" album (also a proud owner of the Special Edition of 'When Dream and Day Unite'), every E.P., every DVD and every Box Set that they have released so far. I live in India and shipping cost have cost me a fortune. If I were in the United States I would have saved more than a $1,000 US to say the least. I am not exaggerating it's a fact. But everything goes for the love of music..."Dream Theater" music is priceless...Fortunately, money has never been a source of tension for me and music has always been a source of inspiration. :)

There is something about "Dream Theater" that sends a sense of calmness and there are times when I have been able to recuperate from unforeseen circumstances in my life...thanks to the music of "Dream Theater". For some a pet is the best companion when they feel lonely for me music is my best companion and "Dream Theater" is what I prefer listening to most of the times. I can't wait to caress my second (Deluxe Limited Collector's Edition Box Set) of 'A Dramatic Turn of Events'. I remember how I was equally excited back in June 2009 when 'Black Clouds & Silver Linings' was about to hit the record shelves and I had the privilege to own that beautiful velvet Box. I think I will post the list albums I own...I still want to add the "Official Bootlegs" to my collection and I am looking forward to do just that. However I did manage to obtain my "Liquid Tension Experiment" box set called 'LTE Live 2008'. It's just phenomenal to watch the four guys jam and exhibit their spell bound performance. "Live In NYC" is awesome but "Live In LA's" Blu-Ray is a treat to watch. I would like to recommend the same to all the "Dream Theater" fans who care to read what I wrote. And what a pleasant co-incidence as I write this I just received a notification in my e-mail to download 'A Dramatic Turn of Events' in full. So excited right now can't wait to hear this new observation by the best Progressive Rock / Metal band of the millennium. Cheers :)

Thanks

I'd have to say Train of Thought with SDoIT right behind it. ToT has some very deep lyrics and thought provoking for sure, plus some powerful playing by all. SDoIT just hits home in a few spots and I enjoy LaBrie's vocals on that one

I have to say it's a toss up between Systematic Chaos and Train of Thought. But I am really digging A Dramatic Turn of Events! James Labrie's vocals are AWESOME on every song! John Myung is playing the Moog Taurus Bass Pedals and that sounds incredibly thick! Mike Mangini is just amazing on there! So, it's really like potato chips, I can't eat just one!

My favourite Dream Theater album has always been Awake. I love the rawness of that album. I love James rasp and harsh vocals, the heaviness of the album, the lyrical content. I feel that Awake was their most diverse album, but no matter what direction the album takes, it always has this dark undertone for the whole seventy-five minutes that really resonates with me. Awake seems to have the most character.

The two albums that are in for a close contender, however, is Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence and Falling Into Infinity.

BUT...........the more I listen to ADTOE, it's moving up the list fast!
