I don't understand, if you find the bands sound annoying why even bother to register on this site and post your displeasure?

i think the technique works for the band to an extent but on bigger songs it is annoying

Different techniques I could say 8 fingers tapping, hybrid picking, slaps, etc...JP needs explore his guitar in the solo projets. I am a litle disapointed with suspended animation. JP can do more!!

I don't think Mr. Petrucci is worried about doing anymore solo projects at the moment.
Basically, Dream Theater is a vehicle for John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess to stretch out and show off their musicianship. My thinking is the "Suspended Animation" was just something JP did to have different material other than DT music to work with while doing the G3 tour. Not to mention, "Suspended Animation was done almost eight years ago in 2005. I'm not trying to take anything away from John Myung, James Labrie, or Mike Mangini either, I'm just saying.

Yes, undeniably. I believe Mr. Petrucci could play anything he put his mind to.
BTW, if you want to listen to guitar solos that sound like Megadeth - listen to Megadeth.
I listen to Dream Theater because of their unique sound.

No, I don t want that Dream Theater sounds like megadeth. It's not the point. Ok, no doubt Petrucci can play 8 fingers tapping with no problem, It's not the hardest technique and a guitar player who play blind Faith unison, kinderd spirits unison, the glass prison arps can do anything in guitar. But I talking about JOhn Petrucci solo Project, Why play the same stuffs he plays in DReam THeater in his solo albums. Suspended Animation is a good guitar álbum but is the same stuffs JP plays in DT albums. I expect more in his solo albums like exploring new techniques, 8 fingers tapping, slaps, hybrid picking and new styles jazz fusion, neo classical, Spanish sounds etc...I know he can do it with no problem cause JP has incredible skills
