    Hi,
yesterday I received my Live In Luna Park Bluray disc.
I had the biggest expectations ever, but my dissapointment was a fact when the concert begun. The sound quality was horrifying especially on the parts where James Labrie sings. Its so muddy and distorting so that I thought that my speakers were broken. I changed to another Bluray disc and there were no problem with the sound at all. Is there anybody else experiencing the same problem?

    Sad fan.

No bad experience here and my system picks up everything, for better or worse. Video was good too. Frankly I was glad to see that they FINALLY released a DVD with a DTS format. Music as good as theirs deserves the best sound.

Can you tell me where the distortion in James Labrie's voice takes place?
I have viewed mine once all the way through, and did not notice it. However, there were some distractions going on in the room while I was playing it. The CD's seem to sound good, although I have not listened to the whole set yet.
The only gripe I have is the distortion in the video quality due to the blue stage lighting.
I really wish they would have did a couple of run thru's to see what the production would look like before recording the whole event.
Not really a complaint though. Just an observation. One gets spoiled when accustomed to a band known for their perfection. Let's face it though it is better than Chaos In Motion.

Actually the shop that I bought it from are sending me a new copy. I really hope that it is possible that a batch of blurays are of bad quality, even if I don't think so tough.

Ok Wolfseye,
So this was no coinsidence then, as I expected. I totally agree with you regarding the Score concert. It was great. The sad thing is that I have heard rumors that the sound problem was the reason of the concert release delay. If that now was the reason, why not just skip the release and do it better until next time. I have always seen these guys as the most serious and flawless musicians in the music business, but when they give it a ok to release this as the quality was. I don't longer think it was in DTs hands. I really hope DT and their entourage take care of this and compensate it in some way or the other for the lousy production. At least a statement from Petrucci or an explanation would do it better than it is now. I have really waited for so long for this concert and as I said before, the dissapointment is harsh.

The distortion on the parts where James sings is one part, but the overall Soundmix is really bad. Guitar mostly kills Keyboard & Bass, both seem to be rather in the background. Drum sounds a bit average. Picture is great but the sound, I honestly expected more. As a example, the SCORE Concert, hell that was a awesome mix of all Instruments. Each got its place in the soundmix but with Luna Park that is simply not the case anymore. I wonder how they, after obviously checking before releasing it, thought that would be a good soundmix. I am used to perfection when it comes to there things from DT. They normally hit the spot right where it should be. Not in this case.

For me the best combination right now, the Luna Park concert with the soundmix of SCORE Live.

To clarify, this is no complaint of any kinda. Its just a sadly disappointed opinion.
