Agreed, great show, but personally I thought the sound was mixed a little too hot for a venue this size. JLB sounded great and Mangini's drum solo was pretty awesome but JMY was too low in the mix. The crowd was into it and the guy's seemed to enjoy themselves.
I had a few rows of short people/women in front of me, so no ogres blocking my view. This was the setlist I wanted to see, plus I picked up the animation t-shirt, so all in all I enoyed it.
Anyone here interested in a Row H ticket to see this show? Two people have backed out on me now and I'd rather see it go to someone who will really enjoy the show. The price will be cheap, certainly below the $43 face value. PM me.
On the Backs of Angels - 8.5
Build Me Up Break Me Down - 7.5
Lost Not Forgotten - 7.5 (Sounds a little disjointed to me)
This is the Life - 9.5 (Overlooked initially, but now really growing with me, terrific lyrics)
Bridges in the Sky - 10 (My early favorite)
Outcry - 9
Far From Heaven - 8.5 (for some reason I keep picturing this song as part of a montage in a movie soundtrack)
Breaking All Illusions - 9.5 (love JP's solo)
Beneath the Surface - 8 (great vocals, just a little slow for me)
Overall, ADTOE is super solid from top to bottom
I'm trying to convert my wife into a DT fan, but it's hard to get her to sit down and really listen to anything, she always wants to be focused on something else and treat it as background music. She usually only listens for a minute or so and then says "it's alright" and doesn't really pick up anything memorable from it.
I showed her your video. I noticed she was watching and following the lyrics. She stayed through the whole song, and at the end said 'that's not a bad song". I've played the song a few times since in the house and she recognizes it now. I was ripping on "Bridges" yesterday and she said "play that one song I like" (referring to TITL).
He heads to the crapper to check email and sports scores on his phone while he's deucing.
Seriously, on the Chaos in Motion DVD, JLB showed a small sorta tent-like area he has set up behind the stage where he goes to chill until he needs to come back out.
