I hope they make one with CDs of the concert audio, like they did with the previous one, Chaos in Motion. I don't always have time to sit and watch a whole live DVD, but I'll listen to a live album, often. So I'll probably go for the set which has the Blu ray and CD.
When Dream and Day Unite for studio; Once In A LIVEtime for live.
The songs are good on WDADU, it's just that I came to the band long after LaBrie had joined, and it's very jarring hearing Dominici singing instead. And the production sounds low budget. Hearing the songs performed live, with the more recent lineup, on the When Dream And Day Reunite DVD made it sound a hell of a lot better.
OIALT is a decent live album, but you can tell LaBrie was having serious throat issues. He has terrible trouble hitting the notes sometimes on this one. I think he normally does well live (on Score, he's fantastic)
ADTOE is their best album in a long time, IMO. The songwriting and lyrics are excellent. Myung should be forced to write at least one song on every album from here on in!
I think Mangini did a great job here. He didn't write any of the drum parts, so hopefully he'll have some more creative input into that next time around. He worked well with what Petrucci had written for him, though.
Technically, I think Mangini probably is better than Portnoy. Of course, the previous DT albums are classic, and no one can take MP's great achievements away from him.
Agreed wholeheartedly. When I heard 'Breaking All Illusions', I thought 'yep. The kings have returned'. It's their best song in many years. Bound to be a live concert fave for years to come
Sorry to say it, you may have to chase them up by now. I got mine last week. Can you call postal tracking? Do you have a product shipping code?
