God, this board software is, um, less than good....
Well, I've been unceremoniously banned from dreamtheaterforums.org, so I guess that does make this my new home, doesn't it :p
Well there's 5/8 too, I guess. Ah well...
I don't "get" the 5/8 forum. I was perma-banned from Portnoy's forum a couple of weeks ago, so I've migrated to DTF, and I've seen you around over there, WTF happened? How did you get whacked? :p
Completely forgot about that Hollow Years solo on the Budakon disc, that one is outstanding too
I was wondering...what's his best guitar solo in your opinion (including the ones from Suspended Animation)?
I love the final part of The Ministry of Lost Souls, I started listening to them with this song...let me know :)
I think my favorite is still the solo from "The Spirit Carries On" but the solo from "Lines In The Sand" is also incredible. Really, all of his solos are incredible, but those two stand out the most to me.
This band is rejuvenated and it's largely due to Mike Mangini's masterful performance on the latest album, but I also, honestly, believe that Portnoy was dragging Dream Theater in the wrong direction. The new album, imho, proves it. This is a band that has found their wheelhouse again and released the best album they've created in a decade. I cannot wait to see them live in a few weeks, and frankly, it's the first time I've had any interest in seeing Dream Theater in a live setting in over 5 years.
What does everyone think?
New music for fans of Dream Theater, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard, Symphony X, etc.
