A friend gave me a tape of WDADU in 1989 and I was sold after the first listen. :D
He'll get a chance to read it, because I just emailed it to him. :D
Great first post and also exactly how I feel.
Mike Mangini has brought so much positive energy to the band, which I've witnessed first hand.
And it's great to see how (pretty much) the entire fanbase has welcomed him with open arms, even chanting his full name (not just Mike) at concerts.
Hey, I'm Mark, your webmaster. ;) I got into Dream Theater in 1989, loved "When Dream And Day Unite" to death and saw the band for the first time during the "Music In Progress" tour in 1993. I was a member of the "Ytsejam" mailinglist (there were no message boards yet), hung out in the #Ytsejam IRC channel every day and ran a Dream Theater fansite called "Under A Cyber Moon" that later became the official site you are looking at now. You can see photos of myself with the band on [url=https://plus.google.com/photos/113098788340242797283/albums/562710622789... Google+ page[/url].
I'll be there. :D
chknptpie, I'm the guy who has been running dreamtheater.net since 1998 (actually, since 1997 as a fansite).
"Itchy" used to be my nickname in the old #ytsejam chatbox and on the message board we had here about ten years ago.
