Over the Edge Productions to Produce Dream Theater’s Concert DVD in South America.

New York. 10 August, 2012- Legendary progressive rock band, Dream Theater, selects Over the Edge Productions to produce their upcoming concert event and Mike Leonard to be the director.

Dream Theater announces they will be filming a concert DVD for their latest world tour in support of “A Dramatic Turn of Events,” on August 19th and 20th at Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“We are thrilled to be working with Dream Theater again, especially on such a monumental project. Dream Theater is a legend in the music world, and they’re all really amazing guys,” says Leonard, founder of Over the Edge Productions (OTE), a New York-based production company specializing in entertainment television.

Last year, OTE produced a documentary for Dream Theater entitled The Spirit Carries On, which was released on DVD with their album and chronicles the journey they took to find their new drummer, Mike Mangini.

The Concert DVD will showcase the best of this two-night live event filmed with up to 10 cameras and ultimately released on BluRay disc. Bonus features will also include documentary segments with the band as a follow up to The Spirit Carries On movie.

We have had such an incredible time performing all across the globe over the past year and it has been an amazing and event filled tour. We are really excited about ending things up in South America and the two-night concert and DVD shoot in Argentina is sure to be an amazing evening! Better yet is to be working with Mike Leonard and everyone at [Over the Edge Productions] once again. Our experience with Mike and crew on “The Spirit Carries On” documentary was nothing short of spectacular and we know that they will deliver our best work to date. Between the show, documentary and interview footage, we are confident that Mike will not only deliver an epic concert video, but that he will capture the real essence of [Dream Theater’s] South American experience to be enjoyed by our fans all around the world,” says John Petrucci.

The Dream Theater concert event will take place in Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The former amusement park, located in the heart of Buenos Aires near the district of Puerto Madero, has been known to host countless musical performances and sporting events for over the past eighty years. The historic venue is representative of the immense culture found within the country of Argentina.

“SPACEWIZ”
CREATIVE NEW APP BY
JORDAN RUDESS OF DREAM THEATER
RELEASED TODAY

SPACEWIZ--the latest app by Wizdom Music’s Jordan Rudess, the keyboardist/Continuum-player/multi-instrumentalist for Grammy-nominated prog rock/metal icons Dream Theater, and chief programmer Kevin Chartier--was released for iOS devices today (August 9) via iTunes.

Jordan Rudess explains, “We partnered with developer Tobias Miller to see if an otherworldly dream I had could be made into reality. He was able to bring it completely to life." Rudess and Miller worked together to create every unique sound and image. There are over 250 on-board instruments, as well as forty-five presets and access to control external midi instruments.

SpaceWiz allows the viewer to interact with and control their environment at the highest level of complexity. With the manipulation of their own fingers on the playing surface, together with the technological wonders of the Chaos and Satellite generators, they fabricate particles, which then collide into planets. One can even add the onboard real time synthesizer with its independent set of sounds and parameters to create their sonic masterpiece. SpaceWiz will guide them on a uniquely woven audio-visual journey while they enjoy the ultimate sonic/visual wallpaper, or get busy and start throwing their own particles around the universe. Users can even try rolling the dice for total randomization and see what happens. For creators who want to play a larger role in their SpaceWiz experience, they have the opportunity to build their audio/visual world from the void. Regardless of the user’s desires, this app will reward them with a mind-blowing creation.

Jordan and Kevin are also the creators of the top-selling synth-app MorphWiz which won first place in the category of “Best Music Creation App" in the 2010 Billboard Music App Awards, “Best Musical App” in the Best App Ever Awards and best “IPhone/Ipad/Itouch” app in the Electronic Musician's 2011 Editor's Choice Awards. Rolling Stone conducted a readers' poll recently to determine the 10 greatest prog rock albums of all time, and Dream Theater fans came out in force to vote for the band. Indeed, writer Andy Greene says in the intro to the poll, "We received thousands of votes, partially fueled by the fact that one band encouraged fans to vote by posting the link on their homepage. We won't name names, so let's just call them D. Theater. No, that's too obvious. Let's go with Dream T." Check it out now to see which of the band's albums made the list.

All of us in Dream Theater are so grateful to our fans for their incredible support in voting our album Metropolis PT. 2 Scenes From A Memory as the number 1 album in Rolling Stone's poll for "Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time." The kind of support we have around the world is absolutely amazing and inspires us to keep making the best music that we possibly can for all of you!

JORDAN RUDESS OF DREAM THEATER
RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED
NEW APP
“TACHYON”
TODAY

TACHYON--the latest app by Wizdom Music’s Jordan Rudess, the keyboardist/Continuum-player/multi-instrumentalist for Grammy-nominated prog rock/metal icons Dream Theater, and chief programmer Kevin Chartier--was released for iOS devices today (July 25) via iTunes.

Tachyon allows images and sound to become one as they magically blend under the user’s fingertips. Each note played is an individual expression, allowing independent control of pitch and tone far beyond that of traditional instruments. Most instruments only allow the user to play one sound at a time, but with Tachyon they can seamlessly blend between any two sounds as they slide their fingers up and down the screen. The visual experience of Tachyon is just as mesmerizing; fields of twinkling stars morph into the shape of the selected instrument, allowing a direct correlation between sight and sound.

As described by Jordan Rudess, “Tachyon is simple to use and at the same time it offers a unique musical expressive power. The sonic core of the app is a custom-crafted sound set from my personal library, encompassing sounds as familiar as those you would find in your home toolbox, and as exclusive as the ones I use on tour with Dream Theater.”

In addition to MorphWiz they have released the popular music apps Sample Wiz and GeoSynth.
