I actually think they toned down the sound - Mesa has noise ordinances and I've seen acts get turned down during shows at MAC. James was low in the mix at a few points, but I thought that felt more like the sound guy didn't get him turned back up when he came back from a break. Mangini's solo was a little less crazy than the LA one, but he also seemed much more comfortable w/ the older material tonight. At one point in the LA show it seemed like he got lost - tonight he was locked in and having fun - injecting his own personality into the older tunes, esp. Fatal Tragedy. Really liked seeing that.
